    I see you used the stock rope to attach your rings to. Report back on how you like it. I have been tossing back and forth between doing that with rings and webbing, or going with a cinch buckle system;

    Where did you get your webbing?

    I like the rings. I think it puts less overall stress on the webbing and still has a firm bite. I am lucky to have 2 great independent outdoor retailers near me. I purchased 1" nylon tubular climbing webbing from Campmor. Zero stretch. Everything stayed firmly in place after a 2 hour hang. I plan on hanging all night in the yard tonight time will tell

    Sorry for the late update. My first true overnight in a hammock was last night. Everything held tight and I slept like a baby. 8 hours in the hammock and everything held perfectly.

    That's how I have my suspension as well, just with a Camp USA biner

    I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

    Just got the chance to take pics of my suspension mod. Much like the one that has descending rings, but I prefer the ease of having the gate to clip my loops on. My ridgeline is a DIY whoopie that can go from about 112" down to 82". The suspension is a DI whoopie, and I replaced the original rope with a DIY Amsteel continuous loop.

    iRokk,

    Your suspension mod looks nice and clean. I like the versatility of the biner as well. Do you have any more details or write ups on this setup including your DIY whoopies?

    Thanks,

    Eric

    I have once again switched it up. Took some pics not of it hanging but. I am using 2.8mm spyderline attaching it to the stock ENO cord using a figure 8 knot and a ferrimmond friction hitch on the rope using webbing as a tree hugger and a marlinspike hitchImageUploadedByTapatalk1344288941.881600.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1344288957.565244.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1344288972.077978.jpg

    I made my own whoopie slings from 3mm (1/8 in) dyneema. The ridgeline is made from the same material. I used this youtube video to make my whoopie sling > DIY Whoopie Slings My ridgeline is adjustable. Same as a whoopie sling, but with a long gap between the fixed loop and the beginning of the bury, and is currently set at 2590mm (102 in).

    This is my foot end, where I can adjust the ridgeline. I threaded the loop through the rap ring before inserting it into the bury, so it's not really removable(though it's not that hard to pull apart if needed). To fasten the hammock to the rap ring, I've made a continuous loop of dyneema that I threaded through the end of the hammock and rap ring before completing the loop, so there is no girth hitch, or double loops there.

    This is the head end, just a couple of fixed loops, girth hitched for the ridgeline and WS.

    I think this would be a good pin for the eno people to refer to it. I know I got a good idea from here I would imagine others would to

    Just had my continuous loop fail at the head end. Seems to have worked itself loose and just slipped right out. My fix was to pull the foot end out as well, re-make the continuous loops, but this time girth hitch them trough the hammock and the rap ring.
