Anyone tried RF welding fabric for a tarp?

Hi all,
I am new to the forum. and want to say thank you all for great advice.
I have been out in my hammock a lot latley in the Mt. hood wilderness and I love not being on the ground.

To My Question...
I am about to start making a "blackcat " and was wondering if any one has heard of RF welding for the ridgeline.

IIRC, seems that some folks have tried...not good results. Held for a while but delaminated over time. Stitching holds for a long time.
