The one in Winston carries that line ... might have them.

On the store ordering issue ... they do it on the phone ... the little tables they have for catalog ordering ... you just call the catalog order desk and place the order ... no handling fee ... no shipping ... comes in 3 to 5 business days ... plenty of time for fall

I also called the other two in the area ... Winston Salem and Burlington ... and they confirmed being able to do it. Still have to pay NC sales tax ... darn it

Happened to be in Tysons Corner mall in Upper VA last night and they had about 5 on the rack. Price was 49.99 in the store, plus tax. Too good to pass up as I had no way to order on line while traveling in the truck last night. Didn't know about the phone order thingy. Live and learn. I was so stunned by the price I was somewhat out of it for anything but grab one and go.

Why is it so agonizing to pick between a vest and a full jacket? I'm thinking the main use of these will be when I am laying in my hammock when it is cold out. Can someone suggest some pros and cons of each for this?

Vest pro - it's lighter and packs smaller
Vest con - your arms will be cold

Jacket pro - your arms will be warm
Jacket con - weighs more and doesn't pack as small

I know what you mean, though. I had a tough time deciding the same thing, then I bought a vest and ended up never wearing it. Just not my style. It's a Patagonia Micropuff Vest, new with tags, if you're interested.

So personally, I'd go with the jacket!

A vest with a pair of JRB sleeves makes a versatile set. With that in mind I bought the jacket.

Alright, I ordered the jacket. Thanks for the advice fellas.

Now we all need to meet up this Winter and stand around in a warm manner.

Whoops! Their site won't let me order.... it just sits there and spins. I'll try again later.

i latched onto the vest. the jrb sleeves have been on my radar-
i like the versatility of a vest in the early and late summer. -with sleeves in colder temps

either way, too solid of a deal-
the montbell stuff is like 3x the amount$$.. and at that juncture.. i'll save the wallet-
especially when there is too much hammock stuff to buy- *brandon is back after all

I also picked up a vest and jacket at Tysons Corner in NoVa this evening... and I'll be returning both. I weighed them out. The vest is ~10 oz for XXL. The jacket was ~14oz for XXL. Unfortunately my Patagonia Nano Puff is 12oz in XXL and is just as warm as both. I also have an REI Spruce Run jacket at ~18oz. that has zip off sleeves to turn into a vest should I so choose. And I know it is good to very cold temps since I had it down to -50* in Mongolia last winter. Between those two, I can't justify keeping these even though they are a steal. Also, the down jacket is already leaking down like crazy.
