Question Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2010 Hammock Reviews

BPL mentioned the Hyperlite Backpacker A-Sym Zip in this post. Sorry - membership required. PM me.
It basically says it's 1lb. 10oz. (hammock, net, fly, lines) and costs $230.

Does anyone know of any other hammocks mentioned from the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2010 anywhere?

Welcome to the forums, perrito. We're just next door in Union County on the Watchung Reservation.

I spoke with "Zeus" there who was representing HH along with Tom and he told me about it. So yeah, it's for real. I used a womb entrance Hyperlight last year on the AT and liked it plenty. The zippered models from HH are killing it!!!

Thanx Jay. I'm big on reading and reading and reading before diving into new things. I'm going to have a nice Christmas list for Santa this year! I'll be hanging in Spring for sure. The thing is, I'll be buying 2 of most things - my 13yo daughter is my new AT backpacking partner. If she ever loses interest, I know where I can unload the extra gear.

The Watchung Reservation is good hiking and great geocaching! I'll have to get over there in the fall for sure.

Perrito - if you like to hang together with her, you might consider getting one big tarp and one small tarp. Most nights you can find a place where both of you can hang under the same tarp. Then you can use the small one only when you need some extra protection.

When you can't find a place for both of you to hang under the same tarp, you'll have the small one for one of you to hang separately.

    Just depends on your style.

Thanks Jeff for your input. I really like your website BTW.

I was thinking along similar lines. This gives me the opportunity to buy different models of each item we need. I'm pretty much sold on a WBBB and have to figure out another model to buy. This goes for tarps too. A big MacCat or Warbonnet is on the menu with the idea of covering 2 hammocks. 2 different UQs ..... it goes on and on. I just gotta sell it to the wife. I love gear!
