Is this a safe knot to hang from?

I'm new to hammocks and new to knots. I was out last night and had to move my setup to a more sheltered spot due to high windows rolling off the loch, unfortunately the two trees I picked were a good distance apart - after struggling against the gale winds to set up the tarp nice and tight I decided I'd stay rather than move again.

I didn't have a great deal of cord to tie it off as I usually would but then I had a moment of inspiration - it's a marlen spike (using both ends of cord) over a half hitch.

It held me up okay but the question is - is it safe?

Cheers Sarg. I have to say I was well chuffed when I discovered it, a much more elegant solution than my usual tangle of knots
