    Your tarps not a total loss. It can be dipped in the mixture, stir it and dunk it repeatedly for a minute or two, hang it up to dry.

    It can be saved!

    But hey, make another tarp anyway!
    I used the 3:1 mixture, but will work on improvements sugested. It's 10'x11' and weighs about 18 oz. so, that's the attraction. Thank you all for the sugestions.

    Can you please comment on what you would have considered a threatening situation? Constant shivering? constant shivering followed by a lack of shivering?

    I don't have a TONS of experience but I am comfortable in the woods. If I was waking up shivering I would have been pretty nervous and probably would have decided it was time to start a campfire or wake up friends and bum some of their clothes.
