Just got my WBBB, and the AHE KAQ Lost River fits it like a glove (using the AHE Triangle Underquilt Thingies), it fit pretty good on my HH EXP, but it is truly bills on the WB. A QU is vastly superior to using a pad.

I was kidding about burning it, well mostly kidding.

I figure I'll keep it around for the kids. They were not happy this weekend about being in a tent while dad was in his hammock.

Both mine (snugfit & unsponsored 3/4) work really well with my Blackbird. The first time I used one I had the same problem with keeping it under me whilst on the diagonal. If you flip the shockcord over the top of the footbox (thanks Shug) it keeps it in just the right place while you wriggle about all night.

I've hung below zero using only an underquilt (MWUQ4) below me. No tricks...just hung it tightly b/c this one is differentially cut. Didn't have to wrestle with a pad. Slept very comfortably on the diagonal in my WBBB.

As has been said, it has to fit well...part of that is design and part of it is how you set it up. But personally, I think it's much more comfortable than pads.

    Jeep,
Anytime you wanna play hammock, let me know.
Pads can work and do for many folks.
UQ's are just the next step in your hammock evolution. The coolest thing about a uq (besides being warm) is once they are adjusted properly to fit the hammock, you can toss and turn and they stay put.
I've got a double layer hammock too, if you want to fiddle with that. See how it holds the pad?
    Ambulo tua ambulo.
