Caney Falls - Bankhead NF - North Alabama

Does anyone know the GPS coordinates of Caney Falls in Bankhead NF in North Alabama. It's near the sipsey wilderness but I'm just not sure of it's exact location.

A few friends and I are planning a hang out there sometime in october and I was going to plug it into my GPS.

Here's the description from AlaTrails. It has coordinates to the parking area.

The falls won't be very scenic unless there is more rain. I'd recommend hiking down below the lower falls to camp. It is much more secluded.

    Hey AS,

I was actually looking back through a convo that we had a while back where you told me about the lower falls and that's really where we're going. At that point in time you had said something about feral donkeys? How abundant are these and are they just like wild free-roaming donkeys or are they frothing at the mouth, flesh hungry donkeys? I guess my question is, is there any cause for concern?

No cause at all. I only mentioned it because the cliffs above lower Caney are where we glimpsed them previously. Just free-roaming animals..

Also I guess another concern we may have is water supply. even if the falls aren't flowing well, there should still be water flowing for cooking, etc?

I would certainly think so, I have never actually seen Caney Creek be completely dry. But the falls are much prettier in the wet season.

    AS,

As a side question, I'm just curious, where is your favorite place to hang in the Sipsey Wilderness/Bankhead NF area?
