    How-dee from the Pacific NW

I'm excited to be here! Just got my first hammock from Trek Light because...

    a) I always wanted a Hammock.
    b) I have a nice hammock stand (sans hammock) I acquired a couple years back from a friend. It needed a hammock.

When my TL Hammock arrived, I started researching about how to sit in them and lay in them, etc. I stumbled onto this forum and "hammock camping." Liking the lower-impact to nature aspect, I am a new convert. I'll be getting a Warbonnet superfly w/doors, soon, with some DIM (do-it-myself) items added in (i.e., underquilt, removable bug netting, etc). I've also ordered my mini-atomic from Tinny (at Mini Bull Design) and a bush-buddy. My "geeky" self is super jazzed! I'm gonna have me some fun this winter!

Thanks for all the great information, everybuggy! See ya out there on the trail!

    Welcome to the Forums!!

I'm in the Portland, OR area if I can be of any help to you. There are starting to be more hammockers in the Northwest, we're working on putting a hangout together. (First of many, I'm sure.) We're still working out the when and where, but you'd be welcome to attend.

Welcome to the forums we are glad that you found your way here. Sounds as if you have jumped right into the deep end. You have made some mighty fine equipment choices. You will be well pleased. If you have not already done so. Check out Shug's video series "Essentials for Noobs". They will make you laugh and educate ya at the same time.

Welcome to the forums from Hillsboro! As miisterwright said, we are working out the details on a hang. Keep your eyes out for a thread for us NWesterners organizing a hang.
