    i too am from the school of caution. I would use the supercat under the tarp for coffee in extreme conditions, but keeping food smell, as well as embers away drom my highly flamable nylon gear is priority. On the flip side, I have come to this conclusion after making about every stupid mistake concerning food/animal safety that you can, and have not seen hide nor hair of a critter yet.

    I've def cooked under my tarp when it rains. Other than that, I normally dont.
