Here is what it looks like:

I couldn't find it at Walmart or Target last night which means I probably got it at Lowes or Home Depot. I weighed it last night and it came in at 2.5 oz with a AAA battery. slowhike's is way cooler!

    Hi Tim,
Can I assume that "Past 24 hour temperature tendency" gives you the temperature for each hour over the 24 hour period? If, so, that's a wild piece of equipment...especially, because one can also factor in wind chill to see how cold it "really" was.
Thanks for letting us know about this...should we all buy stock in Brunton before everyone buys this tool :^)

    Cannibal --

Thanks a lot for the pics and info. I might go looking for it but...now that I've seen the Brunton I'm in lust.

    Slowhike --

I hit about a dozen web pages looking at the ADC and downloaded the manual (http://www.brunton.com/manuals/curre...dc_win_eng.pdf ) and only one (Sportsmans Guide -- out of stock) listed the weight. They said it was 4oz. Is this accurate? At 4oz I might have to take a crowbar to my wallet.

    For All --

The prices I saw ranged from high $50s to low $70s. But basegear.com has it on sale for $45. http://www.basegear.com/bruntonadcwind.html
$6 for shipping or boost your order over $50 for free shipping.

I checked E-bay and they had one for $45 plus $5.00 shipping. The ones with additional features sure are pricey.

it came w/ a narrow neck strap & a small male/female quick release buckle.
the strap was attached to the bottom, so it hung up side down. the reason apparently must be so that when it's being worn around the neck, it will be right side up when lifted up to view or check wind speed.

the thermometer isn't going to give an accurate temp reading when it's been hanging against your body anyway, so i removed the strap & added the cord & mini biner at the top.
now it hangs on my ridge line, under the tarp for easy reading.

it weighs 1.9 ozs on the digital postal scale.

i used a small, digital thermometer from wal-mart, kinda like the one cannibal has, & it worked great.
it was probably easier to read w/ that larger screen.
so if a person doesn't want to spend the extra bucks for the extra features, that kind works just fine.

I use the light weight and possibly painful "see how well the titanium stake sticks to your tongue(darn spelling). depending on how soon i call for an ambulance can easily convert to degrees Celsiuses.
