    What are you using for knots? Prussics on a continous ridgeline and taut line hitches on the stakes allow you to adjust and tighten as necessary. Make sure your not using paracord or some other cord that stretches.

    10x12 is a big tarp, if you don't want to sew in center tie-outs you can push a smooth rock into the tarp from the backside and larks head a guyline around it on the top side, This lets you put pullouts anywhere in the tarp that you want them as conditions warrant.

    Have you watched the youtube video that was linked above? It showed how to use more guylines without more stakes.
