My wife, who first discovered hammock camping a couple years ago and convinced me to get her a $17 Byer. That hammock convinced me that I'd be crazy to sleep another night on the ground.

Sgt. Rock, whose great info led me to search out more.

Hammock Forums and all its members, who have thus far been the best bunch of blokes with whom a boy could be blessed.

I started my conversion to hammocking in an odd sort of way...
I started by looking for a new lightweight camp stove. I seached online and found the Pepsi, Cat and other stoves.
    The DIY bug bit me....
I started looking for things to make besides stoves....Sleeping bags, tents, etc.
I was searching the internet for a pattern for a tarp tent. In found Blackbishops website.
His site directed my to HammockForums.net
I never realized that their were people that were passionate about hammock camping. Besides, building a hammock has to be easier than building a tent.
I did another search and found a lot of good information from Risk, Sgt Rock, Just Jeff.
From there I was hooked. I signed up for hammock forums and started posting question after stupid question about hammocking. Everyone on HF.net forums were so cool. The "feeling" from the boards felt like friends talking with friends instead of once person trying to out-talk everyone else.

    Thats my story.
Many thanks to Risk, Ed, Jeff, Tom H, and Rock.

I think that describes this site perfectly; best description I've heard yet.

In my short time on the forum, there are a number of notable people: Woods Walker, on the Kifaru message boards who talked about hammock camping. Once looking at hammocks, Sgt. Rock, and his website, and Tom Hennesy, and his ads in Bowhunting magazines. Once here, there are so many people who have freely shared their knowlege, as was said before, without agendas. I am deeply indebted to the community, who willingly give their expertise to those of us who are noobs.
