After making my DiY asym I want a clark.

I was thinking the TX200, the NX200, or the NX250.

I am looking for a good all season hammock. I was thinking the TX200 since I can use the pockets at either end and put a 3/4 underquilt between them for insulation, but would this even work?

I'm not sure I'm sold on the 250, I don't know if it would be able to be set up on the ground if I need to do so, god forbid

I first liked the NA, but heard it was a bit too short for my size, so I'd need the NX200.


Which should I look for? I am assuming these are all around the same length. Correct me if I am wrong.

And I do want the weathershield option.

Any input?

I bought it for its features that make it a better spring, fall and maybe winter hammock than my Hennessey Explorer Dlx. The included weathershield and pockets make it more secure in foul weather IMO.

The under-pockets most assuredly make it warmer in summer though. OTOH, in a bug-free environment the CJH allows you to unzip and stow the bug net.

As for size, I am 5'-10" and pushing 300#. The 250 is roomy, with no shoulder pinch. I estimate it would work for those just over 6' as well.

I would think the NX-250 would do well on the ground because of the spreader poles. It really opens it up while hanging and I would assume that it would open it up on the ground as well with a couple of guy lines.

I talked to the Clark folks about going to ground. They said the spreader poles did not work well on the ground because they actually extend lower that the bottom of the hammock. They recommend simply setting up a ridge line with your hiking poles or any other short pole or stick handy. I haven't tried it out, but it looks like it shoud be no problem and work very well. You can download a copy of the Clark instructions to see for yourself. Just go to the website. If you are over 5' 10" tall and a little bigger in the torso area I would recommend the NX-200 or NX 250. I have the 200, 250 was not available and I am very comfortable in it at 6' 1" and close to 300. They can be setup on the ground, either one, I would carry a piece of tyvek or ground to protect the hammock fabric!!!!!!

Hmmmmm. That makes sense. I can see how that would be detrimental.

i'm 6'5, 400 and the nx250 is good for me, i have plenty of "elbow room".

The Clark hammocks aren't too hot in the warmer weather are they?

If you are doing a lot of warm weather like in Florida or Georgia I would suggest the Tropical II.
