Quick note before heading to bed - I don't *think* a sharpie should impact strength, different kinds of dyes, not so sure. What I can do is get some tensile tests of fabric ready and let them sit for 24 hours, 72 hours and maybe a week (?), see how the fabric performs compared to my baseline tests done last year.
Ah, and good news. My fabric waterproofness tester is almost done, and I hope to unveil it here on HF and else-ware soon!

I bet the sharpie's probably would be fine as the solvent that carries the ink dries very quickly.
Still, no need to risk a fine tarp.

I have a Zpacks 8'8" x 10'. Listed weight 5.7 oz, weighs 5.3 oz on my scale. Very well made. Joe is great to work with and will do whatever it takes to accommodate. I had extra tie outs added. Construction is top notch and Joe uses what he sells.
