    Home made pot stand?

I have some 1/4 and some 1/2 hardware cloth. I am about to make some pot stands for my alcohol stoves. Any advice or links showing helpful hints would be much appreciated.

I would suggest making your pot stand so that it is evenly 1cm inside the pot around the entire circumference.

I also would suggest doing a burn-in once or twice while not standing near it. Most hardware cloth that I have found (at Lowes, etc...) is galvanized, which produces poison gas when burned. So be sure not to inhale those fumes for the first few burns.

This one uses aluminum foil tape as a windscreen. Not as effective as a screen that goes around the pot but much better than none.

Diameter sized to fit inside pot. Height designed to keep pot 1-1.5" above most alky stoves.
