Is that American Fork Canyon? Can you access the Mount Timpanogos area/trails from there? Must be pretty close. If any one wants to see this area in a movie, just watch Jeremiah Johnson from the 70s. Mostly filmed on the slopes of what is now Sundance Ski Resort, not far from where Muse was camping.

Thanks for the report, Muse, and the pics and the memories they bring up! That area around Mt. Timp is, for me, very close to being at least tied for the number one most beautiful spot in the lower 40 USA. And even fewrer spots are so beautiful and accessible.

Beautiful photos. I wish I was further north to enjoy some snow hanging like that. I went out for an overnighter this past weekend, and woke up to temps in the mid 70's that soon reached the upper 80's that afternoon while hiking back. Needless to say, it was a long, HOT hike back.

The links showed the backside of Timp. I have hiked that a couple of times. Nothing like glacier water on a day hike in August.
For this trip I went the other direction towards the backside of Alta and Snowbird ski resorts. I have spent the last 5 yrs exploring this canyon and haven't even seen 2%. It's a great place to have for a backyard.
