    Question Photo thumbnails

How does one go about adding photo thumbnails instead of up loading the whole photo itself. I like the thumbnails because it is cleaner and makes the thread more esthetically pleasing (to me.) YMMV
    Thanks

I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

Use the "advanced" post and attach with the paperclip.

Yes, my milage varies considerably. The thumbnails are more cumbersome to view if there are several pictures, and they don't have the same attention getting ability as an imbedded photo. In fact, I rarely open attached photos and move on to another thread...

When you are first composing a message, scroll down the page. Under "Additional Options" and "Attach Files" click on the "Manage Attachments" button.

(I'm not sure how/if it can be done AFTER you post a message, say in the EDIT function.) There are other threads discussing this, but can't remember where. If there is not, perhaps there should be a "Technical" or "How To" section on HF, where one would go with such questions?

P.S. Photo is two weekends ago at Wood's Hole Hostel in SW VA. Spent the night there. This was the view just before their wonderful breakfast.

I've been told that "attached" photos slow down the forum because they need to be cached by the forum for the viewer; whereas an embedded photo doesn't slow down or take up space the HF due to simply being a link.

Some forums shut the attachment link off completely because of this.

That makes no sense to me. At least, I don't see how displaying a photo takes less time than caching the same photo. In fact, I'd think the opposite is true.
