    hello from reno

    hey everyone,
just want to introduce myself. i'm a newbie to the hammock camping ranks, looking for tips, insight, whatever. i'm a fly fisherman who's looking for a lighter way to backpack, and hammocks seem to be the answer. i also like the idea of 4 season hammocks with the modular sleeping systems. i heard about you guys from the zombie squad forums. thanks for letting me steal all of your ideas

Welcome to the forum! I used to have family living over your way (Fernley), and have often wondered what the fishing was like in the Truckee River. Never got a chance to find out.

Keep us all informed of your future adventures!
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest becoming a donating member as this gives you access to allot of other camping and non camping related info.

    thanks for the warm welcomes

my family has a cabin in idaho, north of boise in the mountains. between cascade and mccall, donnelly is the name of the town. they're teachers so they spend all summer up there at the cabin. i usually try to sneak away for a week or so to get some R&R, do some fly fishing and hiking and pick some huckelberries. i'm addicted. hopefully next summer i'll have a hammock setup so i can sleep under the stars a few nights.

Donnelly is great, I have freinds that have a deli in McCall, so we try to get up there a few times a year. Lots of great spots to hike in the area, and good fish in all the lakes.

Funny! My extended family and I went camping at Bull Trout Lake (a bit to the east, and slightly south of Cascade) this last summer--beautiful area. Gotta love Idaho. Wish that trip could have lasted a week or two longer.
