    that's just a optical trick due to the angle of the shot. If memory serves, that was a 9" cut; maybe it was 12". No more.

    After I saw this photo I brought a yard stick into the hammock with me to see if the cut with me in the hammock was the same as with the fabric on the floor. It was.
