I know this has been discussed, but I just can't figure out how to look up a post about making them.
I'd like to make something to hold a few light things.

    MYOG guys/gals, help

    Thanks,

Take a look at this thread: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=23005 And if you do not want to make one. Check 2QZQ they have a real nice ridgeline organzier for a very good price.

I made one like this out of some scrap bugnetting. I originally made it where it was easily removable without removing my ridgeline. It is so light I decided to just leave it on all the time.

Mine was mainly made to hold my glasses, and headlamp. Coincidentally, a 20oz bottle of water fits in it well also. You have to do a little thinking about the sewing order to get "finished" edges all the way around.

It's probably 10" along the ridgeline and pockets are probably 4" deep.

I made the same thing out of scrap bugnetting. One of the easiest and most useful projects you can make IMO.

Thanks for the ideas, it will mainly be to hold my glasses and maybe a headlamp. The headlamp I've just been larksheading on the ridge line which works fine, but I end up putting my glasses in my shoe.....probably NOT a good idea LOL.
I'm thinking about making a peak bag from one of my many unused stuff sacks.

Zipper Queen of 2QZQ makes some nice ones. Mine is on the way. Some people have had her put some really cool custom options on theirs for them. They have been incredible to deal with.

You can kill 2 birds and get a MacIX HammockSock. Mine has 6 pockets on the inside of the SEEP...normally you put a rock in each corner pocket to hold it down-if you don't want to put things like headlamps/books/pistol/whatever in them.
That said I've got the TQ/ZQ peak bag and it rocks too.

Until I get around to making (as in learning to pilot a thread injector), I just take an old bug net "attic" from a now defunct tent (4 letter word) and tie the ends together over my ridgeline. Ain't pretty, but it works.
