    The Redneck set up...

I finally got the spark to set up all I have (thus far) and make some pics.

    Some of the stuff;
    1-WBBB
    2-Kelty Noah's 12x12
    3-Byers Vario stand
4- Big Agnes synthetic fill inflatable pads between the double layer WBBB (not shown)
5-Dual purpose 'Neck style top line weight and automatic tightener (tightens more than top lines too)

Comments; The Big Agnes pads are better than the Warry Mart brue pads but still not what I want. Paul will be sending me a KAQ NR UQ (withadded insultex) and that will make things better.

    Pics anyone?

Love the tensioner!!!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy the New River UQ from Paul, please report on the added insultex. I have been wondering how much added warmth one would get from adding a layer to the New River.

Where is the pole so you can vault into that hammock!

Looks like a nice test setup!

The Vario settles when I sit in the hammock. It actually is perfectly set up for my height. Two trees would be MUCH better but I may not be alive in 15 years and can't afford delivery of full sized ones.

It's not too bad if you consider the top of the Vario is about 4' high. The distance on the square is about 11'. The 12x12 is best size for Winter set ups though (IMO)...I intend to get a 9x9 if one of the high speed low drag backpacking ones don't attach themselves to my PayPal.

    Law Dawg,

Love your tensioner, wait, do I hear banjos?

I use my Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 sleeping bag with the corresponding BA insulated mat in my Hennessy Desert Rat, after I had 2Q&ZQ add their side zipper modification. I love this sleeping bag set-up! No matter how much I move around, I can't slide off the mat. It has kept me very warm while hammock camping in the Central TX winter. Now I have to try it here in Germany.

    Take care,

    Great set-up

On your Hammock Stand, did the extenders come with the stand or add-on?
