Just ordered my hammock 2 days ago...

The past two trips out I slept in a shelter. There was snoring, and folks hollering at those snoring. Mice everywhere, and I don't sleep as comfortable on the hard floors anymore. So, I decided to order me a hammock to try out.

I have the Explorer Ultra-light A-sym coming from Hennessey Hammocks. I requested the larger Hex fly, and added the super shelter to the order too. I hope the super shelter works as well as advertised. I'm a warm sleeper by nature, so I'm optomistic.

I'm going to test it out in my yard first, but hope to take this on a 3 day trip in January. Between now and then I'll be perusing this site heavily looking for tips and lessons to make this an enjoyable trip.

I've done a lot of backpacking, but have only run across one hammock hanger. He hung his hammock in the shelter I stayed at. There was plenty of room, and he said he slept just fine! So, after much consideration...I've ordered MY hammock!

Welcome! Hope it works out for you. You should be much more comfortable off the ground. Be sure to let us know how your test hang goes.

    Welcome aboard Joe!

There are tons of folks here who are very learned hangers and outdoor enthusiasts. They are also very friendly, helpful and often pretty dang funny too. I recommend checking out some of the forum topics and videos on this site to widen your peek into the cult... err... hobby.

    Happy Trails
