I've never been to one of the group hangs as I'm kinda a hammock noobie, but I'd like to if I can get off from work. Keep me posted.

My vote would be for Springer just because I'd like to say I've been there, but I will deffer to people who are more familiar with the sites.

Always a big party on new years there. It can be a bit wild though.

I'm in. Probably prefer that April date over March. That time of year will be crowded at Springer, although maybe not so much later in April.

    NW Ga Hang

I'm in. I've been to both. Last year my son and I hiked the AT approach trail from Amacalola Falls. That is a very tough 8 miles (one way). Cohutta has some easier trails. I've done part of the Jack's River trail. The one down side to Cohutta is that there are a lot of river crossings. In March/April that would make for some cold fordings. The first water I came to on the AT approach trail is at the Black Gap Shelter, which is 1.5 miles shy of Springer.

P.S. I'd be interested in something earlier as well like February, if anyone is interested in a cold weather hang.

    Sounds good!

I live in ATL so a GA hang would be great. Either month is good but I do prefer warmer and weekends if that helps.

Ooops - I looked at my Google mail calendar with no holidays when I originally looked at the weekend dates. Removed the April date from OP.

And of course a Bama guy can join us - not just for GA residents - just picking a GA spot
