I emailed Ed to find out if he ever anticipated nesting a Snugfit with a PeaPod... it's such a perfect fit, just seems like it must have been intended.

That looks so WARM! I know it will be hard to test the IX gear after a night in all that down so hopefully you test the IX on the first night. I will be interested to hear results on both items! Good job!

That's a good idea... I'll hang both hammocks, and hop in the IX rig first.

For the IX setup, I have a Universal IX UQ under the hammock, one Shamu and two Baby Orcas under that. That's a total of 12 layers of IX, including the four Torso Heater inserts. The whole thing will be inside a single layer IX Hammock Sock with SEEP. Also, I'll put a two layer IX sit pad under my legs. On top, there will be a Tree to Tree Trail gear IX Bedroll and a Speer Top Blanket (that's the only down).

I may not need the Universal IX UQ...

Looks warm! Let me tell ya... I might even be able to take the cold at Mt Rogers in something like that.

I swear Thing1 is one of the coolest kids I have ever met.

Sure... what I'm unsure of is how much of each is overkill!

I plan to use it with two Speer Top Blankets (shown in the pics) in MN next week. One night I'll test an All Insultex Rig, and the other night I will use this SnugPod with a SEEPless IX Hammock Sock.
MN weather will be a good test for the combination. Your choice seems like it will work well. Nice to have lots of choices. Stay warm!!
