    Maybe this will help.
The figure nine goes on the line and will slide to where needed.

Thanks. I have some of these here. I'm just trying to decide the best way to use them. I just ended up using a larks head to attach the line to the tarp and then attached the figure nine to one end. I can easily adjust the length of the line on each side so I think it will work okay. I think I'm just going to have to get out an play with it. Unfortunately, I have had to work some extra shifts the past couple of weeks and it's interfering with my play time. And congrats on the big win last night.

I think this year I'm going to try the Prusik method on Dejoha's excellent diagram.
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/a...8&d=1271551127

No Continuous ridgeline. Just tie out from the sides. S-biner or carabiner on the D-ring of tarp. Loop of utility line from the biner prusiks onto Dyna-glide tie out. Tie out goes around the tree and back to the S-biner, attached with an eye-loop or eye-splice.

My reasoning is, it should be easy to set up in the rain. Just run the dynaglide around the tree and back to the carabiner, click, move the prusik on the dynaglide to tighten or loosen. Can leave the whole shebang attached to the tarp in the bag. (BTW utility line and prusik i think would be the point of failure, by design)

Does anyone use this system, and can anyone point out any problems with it?

I use a CRL over the top with prussics. One end of the line has a #1 SS S-Biner and the other end of the line has a small metal Night Ize Figure 9 with prussic for tensioning the line. I like the simplicity of this system and the ability to slide the tarp along the ridgeline to position it between the trees how I want it easily without having to undo separate tie-out ends from the tree once connected and tensioned.

i tried that, (in the backyard), with out the s biner at the tarp d-ring. attached the utility loop directly to the d-ring and prussik to the dynaglide for adjustment. it was an effort to lose weight, so i wanted to ditch as much hardware as possible. all other connections are the same though.

at the end of the day, the crl was better for me. i dont like setting the tarp if i don't have to. and the crl is the fastest most effective way to achieve what i want out of my system.

No freeze to -2F here. But I did have to use 4 loops in my prussic's to keep them from slipping under snow load.

    no seperate RL for me

just tie a slipped buntline at the first end and a truckers at the other for easy adjustment.

i bet a cuben ridge seam would be strong enough on it's own assuming it was done right.
