    Take a quick walk through your woods again. Sure the leaves (which may or may not be there) are some shade of green but have a closer look at the tree trunks which will hopefully be there without regard to the leaves. Around here (and there too, I suspect) the trunks are more gray than they are brown or anything else.

    As for breaking up shape, you could always use dead limbs and debris and so forth to rig up makeshift screens close to your tarp. You don't need complete concealment - just 'noise' to make your straight lines harder to detect.
