    Grosgrain, what's good?

Extended Christmases among the "cheap" families...

Got a present yesterday with some nice wrapping including about 2' of 3/4" red grosgrain ribbon. Naturally, being the cheap skate I am, I saved it.

Is there any real difference between "indoor" and "outdoor" grosgrain?

Will this stuff hold up, or will I regret using it one day?

If there is a difference, where do you buy "outdoor" grosgrain, and what do you ask for/look for?

there is both nylon and polyester gg, both are good for certain things, the polyester is softer snd comes in several widths and is good for reinforcement type things, the nylon is usually 1/2", and good for ultralight pull tabs on tarps and things like that as it is probably a little stronger

i've noticed that in the store section were you find the grosgrain, there's a lot of stuff there that looks a lot like grosgrain... ribbon, satin, etc.
i would guess that most of the other stuff may not be as strong since everyone recommends using grosgrain.
but who knows, if it feels strong, it might do just fine.
