I think 95% of those inactive people no longer visit the site so they wouldn't see your thread. I could easily be wrong, though.

Some of the folks that helped build this site into what it is today, they just don't participate much any more.
Also, vendors who don't want to reveal they're here. I have no proof of this one, but I'd make a big bet on it.

I hope this works Bradley! There are some brilliant hammock minds out there and I for one would love to see what they've been up to lately.

I think once you have been on here a while .... things and topics tend to repeat and repeat again. You have to keep it interesting for yourself ....and others.
In my time here I have seen the ebb and flow of new members who come on with tons of posts and then just fade away. Some return after awhile. As this is one of only two forums that I participate in I guess it is just the way of the web...........
Also time is a factor for folks. I know it is for me.
But I continue to stay interested here and it inspires me to go into the piney woods and do some backwoods lolly-gagging!

I think alot of noobs (myself included) read and question then get the set up they want (or fantasize about ) then just check every now and then for updates/improvements....I mainly only come on here now to see trip reports ...others photos in the field and trip reports are the best part of this forum for me

The way it is setup, it just means they haven't logged in during the last 30 days.

Quite a number of members have come to the forum, gotten geared up or educated about techniques, and now only visit occasionally. The active list is just a revolving number based on recent activity.
