At home I've been using some solid steel cylinders that tendertoe gave me with rings attached. About 1/4" and 3" long they work perfect. They're probably 3oz or so, a bit heavy but work great.

I like the simplicity of a carabiner.

I've got some old aluminum arrows I've been thinking about cutting up too.

I posted this somewhere in here heh heh I use these match holders from walmart. Something I was carrying anyway. On an aside I fill them with cotton balls saturated with vasaline. Best firstarter ever (if your lighter dies and great for chapped lips.

    Nice multi-tasking gear.

I use tent repair poles here too - thinking of trying to use a couple disposable lighters but I'm not sure if their shape will work properly.

From what I've heard about toggles, they don't have to be super strong since the weight is supported by the marlin spike knot and not the toggle. I kind of want to go through everything in my gear again to see how many things I can find that would function as a toggle.

bought a 2 meters long, 1.2 cm hollowed out aluminium tube from the "hornbach" store in the netherlands. cost me 1 euro 60 ($2). ultracheap, sawed a couple of 5cm pieces (2inch), put a file on it to get the rough spots out and they work superb.
A little hole drilled in it, a piece of rope through it and I'm ready for my first whoopie sling hang in the next days

i have this container too and discovered that the paper striker material that comes inside with it it has a self adhesive back

so i cut a coupe of circles from it an stuck one on the underside of the lid and one circle on the outside of the lid, that left me with some of the striker paper left and i cut it into very thin strips and stuck them between the ribs of plastic on the outside, seems to work great and don't have to worry about losing the striker paper if i don't happen to have any strike anywhere matches with me

I picked up a used aluminum tube blow dart gun at a flea market for $1.00 and cut several 1 1/2" toggles from it. They are about 1/2" diameter and have a camo finish, although I darked them a bit more with a black marker. Danny
