    Child friendly trail

    Hello All,
I just moved from southeastern Virginia to California bay area and i am looking for a child friendly that i can take my kids on an overnight hike after i come back from being deployed. I want to find a trail by a water source to take my kids swimming and to go flyfishing for myself. If anyone can help me out that would be awsome.

Close to the Silicon Valley I can't say, because when work was done I went anywhere but there. If you don't mind a drive the sierra's have everything you want. There is also some good stuff north of the city.
Calaveras big trees is a great place for a day hike and some river fishing.
Sourgrass Rec Area also has some good stuff along the river.
Both of these rivers have areas that people are swimming and areas that people are fishing.
I liked going up Hwy 4, Hwy 120, Hwy 108 and Hwy 140. They all have some great places to hike and fish. Mother Lode and Sierra Angler's fly shops will have the latest info on that area. Hope this helps your cause.
