Unless you're cutting the width on the hammock, don't worry about getting it square. You're gonna whip it anyway, so the short edges will be gathered and don't bear any load. You won't even be able to tell whether it's square or not.

Search for "SMC Descending Ring" and you'll find several places. www.apsltd.com for the line.

I suggest picking up a couple of these and see if you don't like them better.

They have a $10 minimum order but someone here recently was able to buy only 2 buckles.

Thanks again for all the helpful advice & support!!!!

Landcruzr, I have only posted about 1/3rd of the questions I have had... the rest have been answered via PMs from primarily Jeff, & Headchange, along with a couple being fielded by Blackbishop & others. I have plans though... One day soon Grizzly will rue the day he made a bridge hammock.

With not a little trepidation I once got my now 75-year-old mother a computer, and over the telephone taught her how to use it (so that she could use email to communicate with my sister who lives abroad). As of the beginning of the year she'd mastered email and text editing and can sorta web surf, and we got her going on Skype.

dealing with questions on making a bridge hammock pale in comparison to trying to get your own mother to understand computers. None of you know the right guilt trip buttons to push on me!
