    Hey Slowhike. This is Home Run up in the Buckeye State. If you guys don't mind some company, I'd like to join in the festivities. (I took my little girl to the Highlands a few years ago to backpack and see the wild ponies...what a great time we had! Even though she's got her own horse now, she still wants to bring a Highland pony home.) I want to say I'm new to the forum and hanging, but an ole backpacker. Last fall got into a HH, slept like worn out beagle pup, and have been hooked ever since. The festival sounds like a good time, and I'd enjoy meeting everyone.

    Thanks! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Probably bring my daughter, she's 13 now but is a real backpacking trooper. Hopefully I can get another rig so she can hang, too. Outstanding!

    Good deal. Chances are, there will be some other "Hammocker Kids" of various ages.

    If anyone in the Central Florida Region wants to carpool, or wants to meet up in Orlando for the drive let me or Timberrr know. I'd rather drive than fly if we can cut costs by half.

    Check out Hennessey's Scout. It's a great starter package and should fit her fine. I'd bet that watching the posts over the next few months will turn up a bunch for sale second hand. She'll be the only kid in middle school with her own hammock! Now THAT'S cool!!
    .
    So many trees, so little time...
    We follow where the Swamp Fox guides,
    His friends and merry men are we;
    And when the troop of Tarleton rides,
    We burrow in the cypress tree.
    The turfy hammock is our bed,
    Our home is in the red deer's den,
    Our roof, the tree-top overhead,
    For we are wild and hunted men.

    Now that Rockdawg69 has been kind enough to reserve the GHSP group camp site, I have started a new, thread, starting out as an actual "Trip Planning" rather than throwing out a suggestion.
    Please feel free to state your intentions & desires there. And thanks for all the interest!
