yep... that`s version 2. it`s not as lofty as it once was, but it still works well.
i was disappointed that it weighed nearly 4 lbs, but then i know of several details that would reduce the weight & bulk if i did it again w/ synthetic.
but also, considering the weight of a speer made hammock & a speer pea pod, there`s not much difference in the weight. there would be a fair amount less bulk w/ ed`s set-up, plus i suspect his would take you to lower temps.
i`ve used that one at 22°f w/ exped pad & clothing, & could go quite a bit colder w/ no problem.
it has the insulated top cover that is sewed onto the hammock on one side & velcros on the other. it has the hole for the head w/ insulated collar that you saw in photos in the homemade gear gallery.
but it was way to warm to use that feature this past week end.
but i believe my next insulated hammock will be another attempt at the down hammock. i need to try to start on it this week. ...tim

I've been thinking about my next down hammock, too. I want a much thinner one, maybe 4 oz of down instead of 6, and probably a smaller insulated area, for warmer temps. Should get the weight to about 17 oz for 40F or so, not including bug net or supports.

Dunno - too much to do before the move.
