you just gave me an idea for a dog tent?
It's not procrastinating, its proactively delaying the implementation of the energy-intensive phase of the project until the enthusiasm factor is at its maximum effectiveness.

We have a pop-up dog crate (Target?) that we use for our Golden when traveling. Works great for that, packs small, but it has a flat top. You would have to put it under your tarp, but that would not be a big deal.

    What's it for?

So as for ice, condensation, weatherproofness, etc. I'm more imagining that this would be used in addition to a rainfly and would be made of a breathable (but not flimsy!) Material along the lines of nylon (kind of like the hammocks) but a little thicker. The idea is more in line with Clark's concept of creating a stable air mass. It's a windbock, and air stabilizer, and a bottom-insulation-snugger-without-fuss.

It does need some tails for the ends, I'm working on it as we speak :-)

So posting the pics directly to here is getting a little unwieldy. New ones on this insta-blog I put together. Hammock gets a cone end...

Could you maybe just make a real short second one to pull over the end like a cap?
Look up before you hook up!!
