HH RDBP + CCF + MEC fleece mummy bag liner

I recently purchased a HH Exp Asym Zip with the XL RDBP with hopes that this would be enough to keep me from getting CBS during cool Canadian summer nights. However, while I have found the RDBP to be warm it also gives me a sweaty back. This led me to start looking for a way to place fabric between me and the RDBP. I have been sleeping with a fleece blanket and I tried to wrap this around the RDBP but it is too slippery to stay in place. I had considered 3M spray adhesive but was concerned about how permanent it would be. The eureka moment was when I remembered I have a basically useless MEC fleece mummy bag liner. It is a good fit, if the fleece liner is used upside down to prevent the RDBP from rolling up, and with a 20" CCF pad tapered and stuffed in on top of the RDBP, to make it a bit more ridgid, I now have a really comfortable sleeping pad. I needed to cut two small holes in the sides of the fleece liner for the RDBP elastic cords to exit and anchor the pad in place. All said and done I have layered fleece, blue CCF, RDBP, fleece then the hammock bottom. With the mummy bag liner this sandwich stays together nicely and the elastic cords and glove hooks keep it in place. I have a 0°C MEC down bag to use as a TQ. Field trial is this Thursday night with 14°C overnight temperatures predicted. I may also try a 24" grey CCF pad to give a little more coverage at the shoulders, or maybe an OCF pad for more comfort.

The "Radiant Double Bubble Pad" sold by Hennessy.

Jimmay....save yourself the headaches, sell the double bubble and get an underquilt. You'll be doing it sooner than later anyway.
