Hello from North Georgia
Hi all you hangers,
My wife was asking me what I wanted for Christmas while we were at REI and I suggested that a hammock might be interesting so I took a quick look around the net, found and purchased a Hennessey.
New years eve, after watching the ball drop in Times Square, I went out and slept in the hammock for the first time. WOW. Very comfortable. I was hooked. Have since added some 6x6 timbers to the deck to hang a hammock from and my wife is saying "when do I get one".
Looking at Youtube, I found and watched a lot of hammock videos including a bunch of Whooo Buddy videos. A lot referenced hammockfourms, took a look, liked what I saw so here I am. Lots of great info here and what looks like a lot of good folks too.
Slept out a couple of weeks ago when snow was predicted (if Shug could do it, so could I) and it was great, a little cold, but I enjoyed it. Have since rigged an under blanket.
Looking forward to camping out in the hammock this spring, and enjoying a lot of weekend hikes with the hammock(s).
See y'all on the forum and in the woods.
I now own 10' of Amsteel Blue and know what a Woopie Sling is.

Northeast Georgia here. Near Dahlonega. I just joined in December and have enjoyed being here very much. Was even able to participate in a Pay-it-Forward.
Shug is a real hoot! By reading his sig. line, he must have spent some time in the south himself.
Thanks for the welcomes.
I am near Gainesville for all of you fellow Georgians. Just down the road a bit from Dahlonega (the wife got her Masters Degree there). Have spent many weekends in the woods around there and around Dicks and Boggs Creeks above Cleveland. Saw my first bear "in the wild" at Boggs Creek.
I also think Shug is a hoot and agree that he must have some southerner in him. Gotta love "nanner puddin".
good to have ya dave!
strong GA following!
