300th Post and Appalachian Thru announcement

I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone here at HF for their knowledge and support.
I will be departing from Springer Mountain in Georgia on March 21st and heading north. I will pop in here to HF from time to time when I have free time and a cell signal . If you wish to follow my trip more closely you can do so on Trailjournals.com you should know I'm legally blind so there are spelling errors and other grammatical errors that are enhanced by auto-correct. I try to catch and fix the errors but be forewarned. You will get to learn about The Weekly World News helping sponsor my trip if you read it.
Enjoy and I look forward to meeting folks along the trail!

That's awesome Bat. I will be checking in from time to time to see how you're doing. Is it The weekly world news with the bat boy sponsoring you? Safe travels!

Excellent new Bat. The AT touches just the northern tip of NJ. When you're getting close, let me know, I'd be glad to hike for a few with you (if you'd even like company) and help out with any supplies you might need. Looking forward to your trip reports.

    Happy trails Bat.

Now we understand the name. Good trail name.

Perhaps we will cross paths during one of my many AT section hikes this year.

    Started following your trail journal.

Can I assume that your vision defect is the source of your forum name?
Good luck on your trip! My son is contemplating starting around the same time. I am gonna spend a night or two along with him. Maybe will run into you.

Yep my forum and trail name come from me being "blind as a bat" and my hanging when I sleep. Toss in a sprinkle of my love of The Weekly World News and all things Bat Boy and that completes the puzzle.
    Thanks Ghawk! Hope we meet.
Inspectorguy that would be cool if he and I started at the same time.
