    Slap strap stretch

So I have slap straps and an eno...been using them for a while with none (ok a little) stretch that you guys are on about ....admittedly I'm only 150lbs

Used them with my diy 1.9 double the other day, my butt was on the floor...mega stretch, whats that all about? Must be because I got some whoopieslings I guess, now the universe has changed slightly

the fact that you used them more than once is impressive. my friend had to set his hammock up almost 5' of the ground to account for the initial stretch and the stretch over night and he still woke up almost on the ground. get some straps from AHE and whoopie slings while you are at it and you will cut the weight of your suspension in half and it is way more adjustable. Whoopies have an allergic reaction to Slap Straps.

One of the first things I read about those slap straps on Amazon were that they stretched like crazy, I'm surprised you used them at all.

I have whoopieslings just got them but I thought I could interchange them with slap straps because they are easy and fit the trees in my yard better...I have had no trouble for about a year with the straps...I get the whoopieslings and all of a sudden my straps are crap....guess thats what I get for buying whoopieslings

Guess quilts are going to have the same affect on my sleeping bag when I can eventually afford them

they will.. I can't barely stand to look at my sleeping bag now without shame in my eyes.. Once I get my quilts I'm probably going to put the SB in long-term storage

Aww, the Slap-Straps aren't all THAT bad, especially if you pre-stretch them (I did it to mine by putting them up in my backyard hang-spot, but used a ratcheting tie-down in place of my hammock. Pulled this guitar-string tight and left it for a week or so, checking back to tighten it now and then.

Kind of a lot of work for something that should be functional right out of the box.

Got whoopies and never looked back.

For the record, if Slap-straps came in a non-stretchy strap material... I still would not use them.

I no longer use my slap straps, but in their defense, I think the material is more durable than the non stretch variety.

Last summer, I hung my hammock with slap straps as high as I could while still being able to get into it. I am 6'3" 180 and I woke up an inch or two off the ground. I still have my slap straps, and my kids will use them when they get old enough. I have switched to non stretching straps.
