i have camped and general lolly gaged in bear country since i was a wee lad. I have had a run in with one black bear on a couple of occasions we have a mutual understanding he dont both me and i dont bother him but we both keep an eye on each other when were close by. Bears like human food plain and simple and they are almost always hungry keep food away from camp then he dont have to bother you when he wants a snack.
