    So a few questions.

    1. Can I use my Hennessey underpad (or for that matter UC and OC) in a DL?

    2. I weigh 185 and wonder if the right hammock would be the 1.0 oz DL? I prefer lightweight gear and wonder what the diff between the 1.0 and 1.1 is (especially given the 1.0 is cheaper). Why would I pay more for the heavier version?

    3. How much better is the Warbonnet? Are there any "ex-Hennesseyers over here who could make the transition easier?

    In short,

5'6", DL (for my HH UP), 1.0 Blackbird, would use my HH Hexfly. Does this make sense?

Oh yeah, what's the diff between the line strap and the adjustable webbing.

    Thanks all!

Oh yeah, don't tell my fellow HHers I'm here.
Okay... I started with a HH. I was never comfortable and always felt claustrophobic in it. I bough a WBB DL 1.7 olive and absolutely love it!

I'm 5'6" too. If you're planning to backpack, go with the lighter one. Otherwise the weight won't matter. I got the double so I could experiment with pads and stuff between the layers. I'd get a single if I were to do it again.

I bought the AHE Potomac UQ for my WBB. It is designed to fit the HH. I got it instead of the non-async QU because I think they fit better. I added a couple of mitten hooks on WBB at the HH attachment points are so that it stays in place better.

I have the HH hexfly in camo and use it most of the time. It covers the WBB nicely.

Nobody says you can't mix and match this stuff. Do yourself a favor and get the WBB. You can't go wrong with it.

I have tried both. I have both. Actually my only current hennessy is netless. Forgetting about the net, zip or unzip, to me my hennessy expedition can not compare to the blackbird. I love my hennessy and at 5'8" I'm plenty comfortable, but the blackbird is simply so spacious. The foot box is great, I'm to short to really reach it, but its nice with maintaining quilts. The biggest thing the amazes me is the shelf. Since I've used it I never want to go back it having one.

On top of all that, you get a bigger, more comfortable hammock and better storage all for a comparable weight and price. You simply get more for your money.

1.0 dbl blackbird and a edge tarp for $215 at 36.25oz or...
Ul backpacker with stock tiny tarp dor $199 at 31oz.

And if weights and issue, for $30 you can get a single layer 1.1 blackbird with the edge tarp for less weight, more room, more coverage than the hennessy.

    Just my opinion.

    Ordered Tonight!

I ordered up the DL 1.0 tonight.

I still love my HH (will be sleeping in it tonight), but I'm now counting days til my WBB arrives.

I'll see what the fuss is all about. Thanks for the input here. Oh yeah, any vids out there on swapping over to whoopie slings? Will the WS for my HH fit (I have an extra set)?

Thanks again. Please be patient with my noob questions over the next few weeks.

if you gave me a WB Blackbird for free, i would not carry it or use it.
these threads lately seem to be targeted against HH by WB owners.
in the 70's Burger King compared themselves to McDonalds. it backfired as it made them look like second best. Brandon should step in. this could in the long run hurt him.

I would venture a bet that you are strongly in the minority.

In fact, I'd bet large sums of cash.
