    11 X 10 tarp, JRB or Speer

I don't have either one yet, so this is just from looking at the websites - it looks like the the difference between the tarps is that one is set up with exta tie outs along the 11' side, while the other is set up with the extra tie outs on the 10' side. In other words if you want the hang the tarp with the "doors" partially closed on the ends, one would have 10' ridgeline, the other an 11' ridgeline, the first having longer sides. Is this correct?

If so, which one would work better for a no-net claytor (~10' long), or a homemade bridge (wide)?

I've got the JRB 11'x10' pitched with the 10' ridgline. The tie-outs are exactly where you want them. For the bridge you want more length than usual in the sides, because you need to pitch wide to avoid having the spreader bars rubbing the tarp.

The tarp neo is now promoting has nice dimensions if the 10' side was the ridgeline, and there were tie-outs on the shorter edges. Can't say without seeing it.

You can get 10'x12' rectangular sil tarps from Oware (also 10'x14')

I have the Speer WT and I'm very happy. I have not double checked, but the ridge line appears to be the long dimension. The doors work great and the interior is huge. In all actuality, they are probably both great options.

I have the JRB cat tarp and it is nice. You cant go wrong with either option.
I use my wider/longer BlackCat tarp with my JRB bridge. 12x11
Speaking of spreader bars rubbing the tarp like mine do....thanks for getting me to think Grizz.....I cut out small circles of wally world 3/8" thick pad and put them on the ends of my spreader bars. Much less stress on the tarp. Kinda glides over it.

I looked at it on the website but it says it weighs 2 lbs, this is almost a pound heavier than the speer or jrb (although I guess if I get wet, it doesn't matter how much it weighs)

For those that have the JRB 10 x 11: can I set it up to be like the picture below but with an 11' ridgeline? (this pic is supposed to be with it oriented with a 10' ridgeline)

I think I want to be able to set up with the longer ridgeline and the end folded in and it looks like the Speer Winter Tarp is made to set up with the 11 ridgeline with pull loops so you can fold the ends in, I'm just not real fond of the silver white color. If the JRB can be set up the same way, then that will probably make my decision for me.

You can see from the JRB picture that on the sides oriented 90 degrees from the ridge that there are 3 tie-outs : at the center and at the two corners. So if that edge were parallel to the ground rather than perpendicular you'd have 3 ties on that edge. To fold the doors back you need a pivot tie-out that is between the corner and center tie-outs. This tarp ain't got 'em.

You could put in those extra tie-outs or have someone you know who sews do it. The existing ones are grosgrain laid over the hem and sewn through with a box stitch, nothing fancy.

Someone else here said they got a Speer winter tarp in brown. Given your choice and preference for orientation, it would be worth looking into.
