Fairly inexperienced hanger
I'm a 30 year old, happily married father of one who has only hung around a few times. Those times that I have hung were the best nights of sleep I have ever gotten, in the woods or otherwise. I started looking into hammocks as a tent option when I decided to go to the Bean Blossom Boogie. I was more concerned with space than weight and the Clark North American that I bought has served me well. After I moved from Indiana to Houston I went through a SCUBA recertification with a buddy and decided to upgrade to a NX-250. I have only used them a few times, work and the rest of my hectic life get in the way. This year I am going to be getting more use out of them as I will be doing a few motorcycle trips and its a much better ride the next day if I can sleep in the air at night.
Welcome! There's a reason we all like our hammocks. Nothin' beats a good nights sleep!
A Whooooo Buddy Welcome from a Bill Monroe fan here!!!!!!
welcome to the madness.
I am a Padi Dive Master. When people ask me what that means I tell them that with the basic scuba certification you just know you are drowning. As a Dive Master I know why I am drowning
Looks like you have it all figured out already. Welcome to HF!
I was just tellin the guys at the last hang how weird it is that this hobby of ours revolves around sleeping. Enjoy your rediscovery!

I started off diving when we were stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and it ruined me. Doing the lake diving to update just didn't seem worth it at the time. I was used to the 20-30 foot vis of the caribbean not the 6 foot vis of a local lake. But in the end I was able to realise that I could drown a bit deeper (picked up the nitrox and advanced dive cert for the heck of it). I later did some dives in Hawaii, but eventually I want to make it back to the caribbean.
I wouldn't say that I have it all figured out, from what I can tell your supposed to tie the two pieces of string to some trees right? It wasn't until after I had the hammock and finally came across Shug's videos on youtube that I began to think more about some of the modifications that I want ot make (thanks Shug). Right now I would say that I am a near sighted man on a moonless night with full cloud cover blowing on the last ember trying to rekindle that spark of personal knowledge and I think this is just the right place for it.
Ahhhh...the Bean Blossom Boogie. That brings back a few memories we won't talk about.
