    Allegheny Reservoir: Help needed

Looking for a good primitive site where fishing is close to camp and camp is not too hard to get to, either by boat or hiking. Was looking at Pine Grove primitive campground, says it has 13 sites by the edge of the reservoir but I can't get any good pics of the sites.. anyone know the place I'mtalking about, or a great site or whatnot in that area that'd fit this bill? I'm gonna be with someone who can't hike far because of a bad knee.

I know we went to the Marina by the Kinzu dam and launched our boat there. We went north maybe a mile and turned into a bay there were some primitive sites there right off the North Country trail. I don't know how far of a hike it would be from the Rim Rock trail parking area. I'm pretty sure the NCT leaves north from there. I'd say less than 2 miles and you'd be fishing and camping (primitive). There used to be a map at the marina there that showed all this. I hope that helps. You could also go to Jakes rocks(turn left on the dirt road) on top of the mountain and car camp (primitive) for free in the ANF and drive down to the lake to fish, swim, shower at the beach facilities and get fresh water.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

My only boting & camping experience

was putting in at Willow Bay and camping at Handsome Lake. Any waterfront site will be sort of a "terrace" type due to the topography of the area. So, one way or the other you will be near water unless you choose one of the hilltop campsites.

Spent couple days there last september. Launched kayaks from Elijah launch and paddled across bay to morrison primitive campground. waterfront or wooded sites. toilets and water pumps.I think it was 5 a day for parking and 10 a day for site. great time beautiful place. nice hiking trails from campsites but probably 5 miles to parking lot.
