I seem to remember you leading the pack last time around, but thanks for the self esteem boost. We just need to watch out for poison ivy this time around.

I believe I know where the poison ivy was picked up. Probably while off trail looking for the 'camping area' in the river loop. Info said it was marked by 'white stripes', never found 'em. Sitting here trying to cut weight off pack and read some young lady is carrying 35# and I'm dropping 2 oz of rings off my sls. Maybe I need to find a young lady to help with the load. Reread that, sorry ladys if that sounded sexist, some of us oldtimers are still trying to adjust to the PC. I don't really care who helps with the load, just impressed a young lady is carrying 35#!

That's funny. first time I hiked was last August with a 45# pack. Never again, I learned my lesson. I bought a smaller pack that forces me to carry less and prioritize.

On my first attempt at the AT, I used a High Sierra Long Trail 90 liter pack. Thing weighed 6 pounds by itself. I had 47 pounds that I lugged up mountain after mountain. That taught me! I'll see you guys at Richloam, most likely Saturday.
A couple of weeks out but the rain yesterday will help the woods. It was getting seriously dry around here, we got almost 3" on the south side of Lakeland, maybe more on the north side.

Guys I am working on this one, but have a question. As of late I have had mobility issues and really don't want to be "that guy". What is the the overall tempo expectation? I have thick enough skin, so no worries about being honest.
Look up before you hook up!!

Don't worry about it Rick, I don't think any of us want to run through the trail. I'll stick with ya!
