Not a problem...it will be probably in depth narrative for backpackerZombie and another friends are going to hit it up... might become an oscar contender for a movie...
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

    Rule of thumb.... Don't ask.
There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion.

I have been there, but I was in a tent, my friend was in a hammock. I think we only stayed in our tent & hammock one night and the rest of the time we slept in the provided shelters.
I never got the impression that hammocks were not welcome.
    Good luck,

Didn't even have hammocks on my radar when I hiked there ~22 years ago. It was a good time and a great place. I went with a group from http://www.manito-wish.org/. It was one of many trips I went on when I was younger.

Post some pics when you return.

    Hammocks fine at IR

I did a week backpacking trip to IR in the Fall of '08. Hammocks are fine there, though you sometimes have to check out the various campsites to find the optimal one for hanging. National Parks are always a bit of a pain because you have to camp at the official campsites, and they certainly are not optimized for hammocks.

We had one day where it rained all day and evening long, and were happy to have a larger tarp to spend time under. I'd recommend at least an 8x10.

There's a picture of my HH hanging by the shore in one of my BGT reviews. I strayed a bit from the "official" campsite that night. We encountered a park ranger who was roaming the park, so I wouldn't advise you try and wild camp.

Its a phenomenal spot - once you go, you'll want to return; I know I do.

    Enjoy!
