    tree huggers

can i use the webbing out of a regular rachet strap for tree huggers? i have the slap straps from ENO and they stretch like crazy because of the nylon but isn't that what ratchet straps use too??

yes- can save many grams by cutting off either the hook itself or the stitches that hold it in...
ps just make sure it it rated for 600-1000lbs load or higher, depending on how tight you like your suspension.

Check the packaging on the straps. Many ratchet straps are made from polyester, or polypro, and stretch far less than nylon.

Pretty much. If you have really short nylon tree huggers and account for the stretch, then they are not too bad but I find no stretch to be optimal.

is that something that i can hand sew loops into or is the polyester going to be way too tough to get a needle through?
