Video - Pocahontas Campsite - AT- Berks County PA

Welcome to my first trip report. I went for an overnight to the Pocahontas Campsite on the AT in Berks county PA on Thursday 3/31. Rain was in the forecast for Thursday night developing into snow by Friday morning but I went anyway just for kicks. The weather didn't disappoint, playing out just as the weatherman predicted.

I was a little bummed Friday morning when I awoke to a sagging tarp and a wet heavy snow falling straight down. However that soon changed to a wonderful hiking experience in a beautiful white wooded wonderland. It was one of 'those moments' that lasted over an hour as I hiked back to the car.

Not a whole lot going on hammock-wise in this video but let's face it, the hammock stuff is just a vehicle for us to enjoy everything else about the whole backpacking thing.

    Hope ya'll enjoy it.

make sure you view the HD version; it's really pretty that way:

Amazing! Isn't it awesome to be out in weather like that but to have slept warm, dry, and comfortable! Then you are able to enjoy the whole experience so much more. Simply Amazing.

    Thanks for the video!!

The Coke! I can TOTALLY relate! Everybody seems to want different things after time on the trail. Me? I want a sugary soda or three. Don't know why exactly, but it's a very specific craving. Thanks for sharing!
