Aloha hangers! My name is Kelly (but Tex is fine around here) and I am a recent convert to the ways of the hammock. I moved to the mile high city a few months ago from the island of Oahu. (Im originally from Columbus, OH. I like to travel a bit incase you couldnt tell )
Ive always loved hanging in a hammock and it was only recently that I discovered I could camp this way. I hung a hammock up on my lanai off my dorm room and would frequent it almost daily. It probably helped I was a block from the beach but Im going to say it was because hammocks are just that awesome. Every once in awhile though, Id take my sleeping bag out and take naps or just sleep out there for the night (when I didnt have to get up early for class or work). So when I was wondering what kind of things I could do to make it a full time camping thing I stumbled across this website and I have no intentions of ever going back to my tent. Im getting weird looks and a few comments from my boyfriend about my choice but we will see who gets the last laugh after our first outing
So expect to see me 'hanging around'. I had a ton of questions at first but after some reading around here Im down to a couple. Thanks to REI's 20% member discount I just bought an ENO Single Nest and Im just waiting for the weather to come to an agreement to test it out. Apartment living is not as hammock friendly as I would like so the questions will begin once I get to test things out!
