In that date range, I'm out on June 8-13... that leaves a couple of weekends (but don't plan around me - I'll get down there sometime!).

I do have a canoe, and will bring it along.

Village Creek State Park is proximate to the preserve...I've requested an info packet, and should have it in a day or so. We should be able to ron there, and canoe/kayak into the Preserve to check things out. There are canoe rentals available, as well as shuttle service for those bringing their own.

I just walked in from an overnighter, and need to clean up...I'll look at dates later this evening.

I'd rather remarry my ex than go anywhere on Memorial Day weekend, so that leaves 3-4-5 June. How does that sound? Hot and buggy, to be sure, but there are showers at the state park, and I have a small, quiet generator to run fans. How does that work for everybody?

Hmm, would make that a busy week for me but I'm still tempted to do it.

Mark me down as a 90% sure deal for those dates. Sounds like fun. Skeeters & heat.

Those dates are doable for me. I am certainly going to try and make it. No promises though.

Okay, then...looks like we have a small hang going...The Big Thicket Bugs, Sweat, and Sweet Tea Hang is on.

Here's what I envision: Friday night, camp at Village Creek State Park, Saturday, paddle the Big Thicket Preserve, Saturday night, back to the park, and depart Sunday morning.

Culturally, Beaumont is part Cajun, part Texan...I propose Saturday night, after showers, we go out for seafood in a nice air conditioned restaurant.

    Thoughts?
